Leuphasyl
The skeptic in me asks what’s the point of a product like Leuphasyl? From what I can gather it simply serves to enhance another product called Argireline which is made by the same company. Alarms are starting to go off here. Is this just another semi-effective ingredient, that once it’s put into a product, gives those supplement companies the excuse to mark up the prices? This isn’t our first rodeo, we’ve seen this done before. That’s why we were pretty skeptical about Leuphasyl from the moment we first read about it.
How does Leuphasyl work?
According to Lipotoc–the makers of Leuphasyl and Argireline–this ingredient is a bioengineered peptide that will limit the electrical charge sent into muscle cells, essentially reducing the amount of contractions those muscles perform. Every time you move your facial muscles by either squinting, smiling or something else, lines begin to appear. Try it. When you furrow your brow, those lines are called “crows feet” and after years of this same muscle movement those lines or wrinkles don’t go away. To combat this problem, Leuphasyl, and it’s counter part Argireline, seek to limit those muscle contractions eliminating those unwanted lines and winkles. It’s sound logical and it appears to have success in it’s quest to clear the face of signs of age.
The Good
It’s relatively safe. There really isn’t much out there in terms of negative side effects as long as it’s taken in it’s proper dosage, which is recommend to be anywhere from 3% to 10%. Tests performed on Leuphasyl show that after 28 days the patients experienced a wrinkle decrease by 17%, some even as high as 30%. It at least works.
The Bad
This isn’t the main active ingredient but instead just a supplement to that ingredient. Is that a step that’s truly necessary and or is it just another trick to get more money out of our pockets? That’s the big question but chances are you won’t buy a product that contains this ingredient unless accompanied by Argireline. That should drive the price up some, just as you would have to pay more to upgrade your hotel room to one with an ocean view. But if the prices seem exuberantly over the top, it’s probably overpriced.
How much does Leuphasyl cost?
Going back to the hotel theme, yea you’ll probably have to pay more for this upgrade but hopefully it’s worth the little extra money–just as room with an ocean view would be. Will some companies drive up the cost because of this added ingredient? Possibly, it’s something to keep your eye on.
The way we see it
We’re always the skeptic but I think this could be beneficial. No one wants to get taken, but based on the research we’ve done it may very well be worth the few extra dollars. It is your face after all. It’s what everyone’s looking at, it’s your money-maker. You want it to look as good as possible, and it might take a little money to get your hands on the best products. We really haven’t come across much negative backlash from consumers, so that should be worth something.
