Murad employs a pretty potent group of ingredients to try and get the job done. The number of ingredients they manage to cram into the formula is pretty impressive but not all of them are as important as others. I want to highlight a couple of those more important ingredients.
Kombucha Collagen Defense – this ingredient will stimulate collagen production and keeps it from breaking down so easily. The result should be stronger and healthier skin.
Marine Kelp Extract – should provide instant lifting and firming of the skin.
Willow Bark Extract – will help clear up acne and keep the skin from breaking out.
Salicylic Acid – this may be the most important of all the ingredients. This chemical is designed to get rid of debris and other junk that can collect in pores. Once a pore is clogged it’s much more likely that pimples, blackheads, and other acne could form.
There is always a possibility for negative side effects when salicylic acid is used. Because the formula needs to be potent enough to clean junk out of the pores, that strength that could lead to negative drawbacks. Salicylic acid could potentially cause such things as stinging, burning, skin irritations, peeling, flaking, and dryness. Those effects can make improved skin look not so improved right? That’s the trade off with the acid.
The price tag is a little bit more then what we would typically like to see. I looked online and it appears the average price is somewhere over the $120 mark for a small bottle. I won’t say that’s outrageous but on the same token it’s not cheap either. We’ve seen similar products cost $20 to $30 less. So it would be hard to justify spending that much money on a product that you may be able to get for cheaper.
The product is solid. Consumers seem to give it solid reviews, which is always important. Our issue isn’t so much with its effectiveness as it is with the cost. We think you can get a similar product for less. With the economy as it is we’re all about saving a buck or two. You may be able to get the same results for less money then what you’ll spend on Murad’s Acne and Wrinkle Reducer.
