Vitamin C
It’s not that vitamin C isn’t an important ascorbic acid that has some serious health benefits. I think there is substantial scientific evidence to support that claim. The research would fill volumes and volumes. My issue with vitamin C in skin care products is how it’s delivered into the skin.
They’re a lot of products that either miss-use or try to miss-lead consumers into thinking their product will help them eliminate wrinkles simply because it has vitamin C. Before I tear them apart, let’s at least examine how vitamin C helps in skin care.
How does Vitamin C help in weight loss?
There are two primary benefits. First, vitamin C helps increase the body’s production of collagen. Collagen is important because it provides strength, resilience and durability to the skin. As the body ages, the levels of collagen decrease, increasing the signs of age like wrinkles, lines and bags under the eyes.
Second, vitamin C is also strong antioxidant. Antioxidants help destroy free radicals that attack skin cells which will lead to a process called oxidation. This process also makes the skin look warn and reduces the natural shine of a healthy and radiant epidermis.
Because of these health benefits, vitamin C seems to be a popular ingredient to include in skin treatments. But getting vitamin C into the skin is the difficult part. If it comes into contact with air it morphs and it’s effectiveness diminished. You also need the right amounts of this vitamin for it to truly be effective. Because of that I’m pretty wary of products that list vitamin C as its active ingredient.
I’m not going so far as to recommend you stay away from vitamin C because it really will help. You just need to be careful about the product you choose; the more effective ones are typically a little bit more money.

The way we see it
If you can find a product that uses vitamin C effectively it has the potential help fight wrinkles, bags and other ill effects of age. Again, as stated above, vitamin C’s effectiveness is not in question. It’s been proven to help. It’s getting it into the skin that seems to be the problem.
There are products that work, they just may be a little bit more expensive then others. But it’s a safe, natural and healthy way to combat the signs of age.
